Men’s Teams
BAA broke the CMS 16-year consecutive win streak running the 6th fastest time ever. BAA, CMS, and Whirlaway all broke 6 hours. The last time 2 teams broke 6 hours was 1999 (CMS & GLRR). Two teams under 6 hours has only happened 3 times. 1979 (GBTC & BAA) + 1980 (BAA & GBTC). This was the first time three teams broke 6 hours.
The CMS 40+ team broke the team CR, and remains the only 40+ team to ever break 6 hours.
GCS 40+ team finished second running the 6th fastest time ever.
GCS 50+ team became the first to break 7 hours, smashing their own record by 23 minutes.
CSU, TG, WillAC, and WCRC all ran times that rank in the top 15.
Women’s Teams
BAA ran the second fastest time ever, five minutes behind La Sportiva’s record.
CSU 40+ knocked another minute off of the CR.
Both CVtRC and WCRC were under the CR for 50+. GCS and NMC also ran times that rank in the top 15.
Top 10 finishes
Simon Gutierrez and Craig Fram moved up the list. Simon is now tied for 6th with 9 top 10 finishes and Craig is now 8th with 7. Craig is now the oldest top 10 finisher at age 49, he had the previous record at age 44. Barbara McManus, Cathy Pearce, and Kelli Lusk all moved up the list with Barbara tied for 6th with 6, and Cathy and Kelli tied for 10th with 5.

Sub 1:10
A record 32 runners broke 1:10, the previous high was 20 (1999). Dave Dunham moved into a tie with Keith Woodward for the most sub-1:10’s with 16. Eric Morse moved into a tie for third with 14. Gutierrez moved up to tie Steve Peterson with 8 (8th) and Fram now ties Gary Crossan for 10th with six. Fram became the oldest sub 1:10 runner breaking his record of age 44.
Sub 1:30 women
A record 25 women broke 1:30, the previous high was 23 in 2004. Karen Smyers moved up to 1st with 12 sub 1:30’s. Suzy West moved to 3rd with 9.
Sub 1:15 (men & women)
1:15 has been broken 974 times (25,408 finishers) or 3.83%.
In 2008 a record 53 runners finished under 1:15, the previous high was 38 in 1993 & 1995.
Age Groups
Men 40+ – 7 of the top 27 times were run this year. Simon Gutierrez set a CR by 38 seconds. Fram ran the 12th fastest, Andy Ames 13th, Morse 16th, Fanselow 18th, Dunham 24th, Scollard 27th.
Women 40+ – Laura Haefeli set a CR by 2:29. Pearce ran the 14th fastest, Wonsavage 21st, Piergentili 25th.
Men 50+ – Four of the top 6 times and 8 of the top 22 times ever run. Tuck 2nd, Curran 4th, Stirrat 5th, Pilla 6th, Smead 11th, Evers 13th, Wigglesworth 20th, Gunn 22nd.
Women 50+ – Smyers ran the 4th fastest, Sullivan 13th, Long 14th, Doucett 21st.
Men 60+ – Sumner Brown ran the 7th fastest and William Riley (70+!) ran the 1th fastest.
Women 60+ – Catalano 3rd fastest.
Men 70+ – Riley set a CR, 3 minutes under his previous CR. Schiessl ran the 3rd fastest ever and Howe ran 6th fastest.
Women 70+ – Barbara Robinson ran the 4th fastest ever with Hildy Fosse 14th fastest.
